Corporate Update: Westhaven To Drill Shovelnose And Prospect Valley Gold Properties In 2016

Vancouver, B.C. - May 2, 2016 - Westhaven Ventures Inc. (TSX-V:WHN) is pleased to provide the following corporate update, highlighting plans to drill both the Shovelnose and Prospect Valley gold properties, which are located on the Spences Bridge Gold Belt (SBGB) near Merritt, B.C. Westhaven has over 29,000 hectares within the prospective SBGB, which is situated within a geological and structural setting similar to other significant epithermal gold-silver systems. It is close to existing transportation and infrastructure allowing for cost-effective exploration.

Plans for 2016

Westhaven is preparing to drill its Shovelnose gold property as soon as conditions permit. Field work will commence on Prospect Valley in June with a view to start drilling in August. Gren Thomas, President & CEO stated, "We are in the process of planning for Westhaven’s busiest field season to date. We are fully permitted on Shovelnose and have definitive drill targets. We intend to drill key targets deeper as previous drilling indicates the potential for higher grade gold at depth.“

Shovelnose Gold Property

The drill program will include approximately 1,500 metres of diamond drilling to follow up on hole SN12-04 which intersected 50.4 metres grading 0.54 g/t Au and 4.77 g/t Ag, which includes 13.7 metres grading 0.91 g/t Au and 6.65 g/t Ag. Low temperature alteration, including chalcedonic quartz veining, kaolinite clay alteration and elevated mercury and molybdenum (associated with gold and silver mineralization) encountered in the Tower Zone suggests that there is potential for higher grade gold and silver at depth.

Plans are to drill deeper in both the Tower Zone and the newly discovered Alpine Zone to target the boiling zone, a narrower vertical interval of higher grading gold and silver that is generally about 300 to 600 meters thick. To date drilling has not gone deeper than 180 metres vertical.

Additional Staking

Westhaven has staked an additional 600 hectares, bringing the total property area to 19,012 ha. The new staking covers an area southwest of the Line 6 Zone. Historical prospecting uncovered veining consisting of coarse, cm-scale cockscomb quartz coating open fractures and fault breccia, characteristic of epithermal veins.

Prospect Valley Gold Property

Exploration field work: including soil sampling, trenching, prospecting and mapping
Build access roads for a subsequent drill program
Collect approximately 1,000 soil geochemical samples

Mechanized exploration trenching, prospecting and mapping will commence in June, along with the construction of diamond drill access trails to prepare for a drill program in August.

Termination of Ben Property Option Agreement

As Westhaven has decided to focus its efforts on the Prospect Valley and Shovelnose gold properties, the Company has terminated the BEN property option agreement.
